    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (14 hrs) Course Description

    Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) has been extensively researched and has solid empirical support as an evidence-based treatment for addictions. CBT is structured, goal-oriented, and focused on the immediate problems faced by substance abusers entering treatment who are struggling to control their substance misuse. It is a flexible, individualized approach that can be adapted to a wide range of individuals and a wide range of treatment settings and formats. of the course, learners will be prepared to use CBT techniques to support long-term recovery and positive behavioral change in clients.

    Thea Wessel

    Thea has been working in the mental health and addictions field for fifteen years and has worked with individuals with trauma, adverse life experiences, and the shame these kinds of experiences can have on their day-to-day experience. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) and has a Masters Addiction Certificate (MAC) and National Cert. for Adolescent Addiction Counselor (NCAAC). Her goal in therapy is to encourage and challenge individuals to become the best they desire to be.
